Highworth Bowls Club Lawn bowling in North Wiltshire

    Welcome to Highworth Bowls Club

Highworth Bowls Club is a mixed lawn bowling club, established in 1936. Our six-rink green is currently one of the best in the area, and our roomy clubhouse and bar offers a friendly welcome and excellent facilities for our bowling and social members, visiting bowlers, spectators and guests.

The Club is situated in Highworth, a market town in the north-east corner of Wiltshire, in the U.K. Our Men and Ladies compete in the Wiltshire Bowls Associations and Swindon & District competitions.

The Club recently completed a major program of improvements, including a fully redecorated clubhouse, with new ceiling lighting, and an all-new professionally built bar. With the support of the excellent Wadworth brewery, we serve a wide range of draft and bottled beers, wines and spirits.

HBC BarThe clubhouse and bar is open to our bowling and social members throughout the year – and when the bowling season draws to a close, a range of winter activities begin – most winter evenings have some kind of organised activity taking place, including bingo, darts, crib, and indoor short mat bowling.

    Membership fees for 2010
Highworth Bowls Club welcomes both playing and non-playing (social) members. Social members are entitled to enjoy all the facilities of the Club except for full use of the green, and they form a much valued element of the total Club membership.

Full bowling membership is £74 pounds per year.

Beginner bowler membership is £37 for the first year.

Junior bowlers (under 18 years), pay just one pound per year.

Social membership currently costs just £7.50 per year.

    An invitation to non-members

HBC BarIf you’d like to come along to the Club and have a look, please feel free at any time. You’ll find the club in use most evenings, and weekend afternoons. We have plenty of seating around the green for spectators, and what could be more relaxing on a warm summer’s afternoon than watching a game of bowls? Remember, visitors are welcome.

If you would like to become a member, just pick up a membership application from the Club, and have a word with a Club member or our Club bar steward for advice on how to apply. For new bowlers, our qualified coaches can help you get started,  and you’ll always find other bowlers prepared to offer guidance and encouragement.

Affiliated to the Bowls England, Wiltshire Bowling Association, and the Swindon & District Bowling Association.
