Eastbourne Tour - June 2001
Eastbourne
The Front and Grand Parade, Eastbourne
A good time was had by all on our weekend bowls tour to Eastbourne. Just in time for one of the hottest weekends of the year, we travelled down to Sussex on the Friday, leaving us with the afternoon and evening free to explore Eastbourne's front, shops, pier, and pubs.

Saturday's match was against the Eastbourne Bowls Club, where we were made most welcome. After recording a win here, it was back to the Albany Hotel for the evening meal, and a great night in the hotel bar, where the entertainer for the evening was ably assisted by a couple of 'turns' from our own members.

For Sunday's game we headed out of town to find the four-green club at Bexhill. On a beautifully hot and sunny afternoon, the Highworth tourists again came away with a win, before setting off for the return trip to Wiltshire.

Thanks go again to Josie Etherington for organising a most enjoyable 2001 tour.
