2005
The 2005 season started with a recruitment Open Day on May Bank Holiday Monday. Thanks to heavy promotion, a steady stream of visitors arrived at the Club throughout the session, and we were able to sign up around 26 bowlers and social members on the day. Over the Winter of 2005/6, John Morgan, Gary Mothersill, Tricia Pearce and Ian Thomas all qualified as Level 1 Coaches. The Club intends to ensure that all new bowlers receive adequate coaching before they are allowed to use the green.
We re-visited Eastbourne for our 2005 club tour, staying in the Albany Hotel and combining a few games of bowls with a bit of sight-seeing. Thanks go to Josie Etherington and the late Fred Edwards for organising another enjoyable tour.

The Highworth Bowls Club Mixed Gala was held on Bank Holiday Monday the 3rd of June 2002.

Thanks to a solid performance throughout the day, John White's Highworth four reached the final, to face Mike Savin's rink from Chippenham.

In a very tight game, the Highworth rink looked set to win when holding the two required shots on the very last end. But Mike Savin's last wood of the game managed to split the two Highworth woods out of the head, and stop on the jack to count three and snatch the win!
The tenth anniversary ladies' Mymossar Gala Day was held at Highworth in August, with the honours this year going to the triple from Swindon's West End.

In a refreshing but stressful reversal of roles, the ladies catering was again provided by a team of Highworth men!
