Congratulations to Jo and Deanne on the magnificent achievement of making the County 2 Wood Final to be played on Saturday 30th July at Amesbury.
Having already qualified in the Rinks, with Linda and Maggie, both ladies took to the green at Trowbridge Westbourne on Friday 22nd July with a big task ahead.
From an initial field of over 40 entrants, Deanne had already come through three rounds and Jo two to get to the last 8.
All four quarter finals were very close with Jo overcoming Val McCormack of Amesbury and Deanne beating Sue Cooke of Box.
In the Semi-Final, Jo then beat Alison Fail of Purton and Deanne had to overcome Sue’s regular Pairs partner from Box, Alex Jacobs in a very close game.
As a consequence of making the County Final, a rare feat for both participants to be from the same club, they will now represent Wiltshire in the National Finals at Leamington on September 5th and 6th.
