After some years since a touring team had visited Highworth it was great to welcome visitors from Exonia BC, from Devon, to the club.
As they stepped off the bus our visitors received a warm welcome from club members and quickly made to the bar to take in some refreshment and to commence the hours of conversation that followed.
After preliminaries the 6 triples match commenced with Exonia getting off to a slow start as they relaxed after several hours on the coach which had brought them directly to Highworth from their Exeter base.
After a break for tea and biscuits after 10 ends, the match resumed with Highworth finally triumphing overall 113-89, winning four of the six rinks. However, Exonia got their own back by winning the majority of the raffle prizes!
Many compliments were received from our visitors about the green and the welcome from Highworth.
Many thanks must be given to all those club members who helped make the day such a success and led to many present wondering if perhaps we should make a tour ourselves down south to meet again with our new friends
