On Sunday 12th May Highworth Bowls Club had the privilege to host the annual Swindon & District verses Bowls Wiltshire challenge match.
Mark Richman president of Swindon & District and Andy Watson president of Bowls Wiltshire were supported players from the various clubs that play in their respective leagues to take part in this annual challenge match.
The outcome was a win for Bowls Wiltshire with a final score of 127 to 97.
Both president complimented the Shaun Hicks and Ian Webb along with the Highworth Green team on the great preparation of the green.
The match was followed by a wonderful two course meal of roast beef followed by apple pie prepared by Maggie Jordan, Sandra Richman and the super team of volunteers working away in the hot kitchen.
As usual for these challenge matches there were some charity fines and donations which will all go towards the S&D chosen charity, The Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
