PARKING AT HIGHWORTH BOWLS CLUB
Please be advised that from the start of 2026 season changes have been introduced to HBC parking layout to provide safe access and egress for emergency service. Consequently, parking at the club is very limited and we would request wherever possible teams walk to the club or if you drive to maximise the shared use of vehicles. Once the car park is full, we will be asking drivers to park in the overspill area at the lower Recreation Ground as in the diagram
Overspill Parking Area – Lower Rec
Parking in the Club Car Park is limited and at times may be restricted to visiting bowlers and spectators with mobility conditions.
An alternative parking area is available a short walk from the Clubhouse on the Lower Recreation Ground.
• If driving from Swindon to Highworth, turn left onto the Lower Rec just 150m short of the Bowls Club entrance.
• If entering Highworth from the Lechlade, Blunsdon or Shrivenham roads, turn right onto the Lower Rec 150m past the Bowls Club entrance.
Access to the Bowls Club is by foot either walking beside the sports pitches, to the left of the skatepark and through the Club car park gates. Or walking back to the road and crossing to the footpath on the opposite side and then recrossing when you get to the club as unfortunately there is no footpath on the left-hand side of the road.
Clubs are requested to share this detail with their members who may be visiting Highworth Bowls Club for fixture as players or spectators.
